CMHA is happy to welcome Dr. Wendy!

She has been practicing acupuncture and naturopathic medicine for over 18 years, just outside

Portland, Oregon. Originally from Mississippi, she moved to Portland with her family at the age

of four, where she was raised with a deep appreciation for both the arts and the outdoors.

After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology, she discovered Chinese Medicine "by

accident" while pursuing her doctorate in naturopathic medicine—and quickly fell in love with

    its holistic approach to healing.

When the opportunity arose to work alongside one of her favorite people, Dr. Fey, saying yes

to a new adventure on the East Coast felt like the natural next step. After spending time at

Complementary Medicine and Healing Arts and experiencing an immediate connection with

Shaul, the practice's beloved acupuncturist, she knew she had found a special place. The move

felt especially meaningful as her daughter has also found a love for New York while attending

    Fordham University.

While Dr. Wendy has practiced naturopathic medicine for many years, she's excited to focus

her practice on acupuncture. She treats a wide range of conditions, including acute and

chronic pain, anxiety, insomnia, digestive concerns, and hormone imbalances, with an

    individualized, compassionate approach to care.

She looks forward to getting to know all that New York has to offer and to serving the

community at Complementary Medicine and Healing Arts. She can't wait to meet you and be part of your

    health and wellness journey.

Dr. Wendy will start seeing patients at Complementary Medicine & Healing Arts in September

    Naturopathic Medicine

Natural therapies are utilized to restore and optimize health. Naturopathic doctors are trained experts in the field of natural medicine and treat a wide variety of health concerns and complaints. Committed to identifying and treating the cause of disease rather than focusing solely on symptomatic treatment, we view each person as a unique individual. The philosophical approach of naturopathic medicine includes disease prevention, patient education, and encouragement of the body’s natural ability to heal. Naturopathic medicine combines centuries-old nontoxic therapy modalities with current advances in medical science and research.

    Acupuncture & Chinese Herbal Medicine

Acupuncture is an ancient form of healthcare that originated in China at least 2,500 years ago. It has been practiced throughout the Asian world for many centuries. Through the use of extremely fine needles, acupuncture works by manipulating the flow of Qi in the body, which is the life force or energy force that is present in all living things. Traditional Chinese medicine encompasses several methods designed to help patients achieve and maintain health. Along with acupuncture, TCM incorporates techniques such as moxibustion, massage, herbal medicine, diet and lifestyle changes, meditation, and exercise.
